Summers Here

20/06/20223

I have just been up to Scotland to visit family and to care for my 97-year-old father while my sister and family have a holiday. The weather in Fife was amazing, Warm and sunny. It was a slow holiday with the odd trip out for a cuppa with my father.

We took a few walks on the golden beaches of Fife, but I was quite shocked by the number of dead sea birds on the beach at St Andrew's Beach. They will be coming from the Isle of May which is a bird colony in the Firth of Forth. It has been quarantined due to bird flu.

Quite a tragedy really.

However, we did have a trip to Edinburgh which was great. Living down in Cornwall it is a rare occurrence to be able to visit a big city.

We parked near the Zoo and got the tram into the city centre. This is a brilliant service. We had Loki the dog with us and he experienced his first tram. He lay flat on the floor with an anxious look on his face.

As I normally come to Edinburgh during the festival it seemed quiet. We walked along Princes Street, up onto the Royal Mile, down to the Grass market and back around to the Tram. Taking in coffee, lunch and coffee

I was really taken by the fashion of shop fronts decorated with flowers.

Now I am home I am working on my first felt kit. It is a hand-sewn version of my Senara the Sun Bear pdf sewing pattern. The instructions are all ready and I am now trying to decide on how to package it.  I am trying not to over-package the kit and to keep the packaging sustainable. Some days decisions do not come easily.

The kit should be in my Etsy shop by next week.
